What is IATF 16949:2016?
IATF 16949:2016 was developed by the International Automotive Task Force (IATF) – an international automotive association consisting of leading global automobile manufacturers and groups such as BMW Group, Mercedes-Benz, Ford, General Motors, Volkswagen Group, Renault, Stellantis, and others, in collaboration with the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).
This standard is built upon the foundation of ISO 9001, with additional industry-specific requirements dedicated to the automotive sector – an industry that demands extremely rigorous control over:
